Hi, my name is Alice and this is my weird little world. I hope you don't mind cobwebs and dust, I haven't the time to clean my humble abode. Feel free to roam, feel free to chat, the walls will keep your secrets and floorboards won't peep a word. Excuse Mr. Mouse and his lovely family of mice, he rents out that little hole in the wall and won't disturb the peace. Be weary of the beautiful Miss Ivy, she's a bit of a thief. She wouldn't dare hesitate to snatch you or your belongings and keep it for herself.
What else...? Oh! If you spot Mr. Wolf, be careful! He has gotten it into his silly head that my backyard belongs to him, and he doesn't take kindly to trespassers. Nightly, around these parts, we get a song from Miss Crow. We use to get a song from Miss Robin in the morning, but she's long gone. She left when the trees stopped blooming and the wind quit whistling.
Anyway, never mind Miss Robin, she's already abandoned us, why don't you come inside? It will get chilly real soon. Take off your jacket, your shoes, your hat, and please leave them by the door frame. Lest you have the interest of cleaning my home. Follow me to the living area, there I will stoke the fire. Warm you up and remove the weariness that has settled on your bones.
Please, take my chair, although I must admit it's not very comfortable. The springs have collapsed, the fabric is ripped, and the cotton material is no longer contained. However, that is the best I can offer, unless you believe you would rather take chance with the splintered floors.
May I offer you a blanket, a pillow, or perhaps some soup? I trust you'll be here for a while, so let us make your stay a comfortable one. Ah, I know! Perhaps you would like to hear a story, maybe a tale of a harrowing adventure, a frightening monster, or a cunning damsel in distress. This house gave me a gift, free time to write these surprising tales. Some have happy endings, others will pull at your hearts, but you'll never know until you hear the tale.
Don't turn up your nose, there isn't much else to do here. Sit back, relax, and close your eyes. Imagine a world that's far and wide, then listen to my voice as I tell you tales of love, hate, trust, and betrayal.
...
For now I plan to be doing two stories per week. On Wednesdays, I will be posting short drabbles, and on Saturdays (or Sundays) I will be posting super long stories. Thank you for joining our story-time, it's truly an honor.
